Zagadnienia zarządzania produkcją przedstawiane są w kontekście Total Quality Management, filozofii Lean manufacturing i Industry 4.0. Informatyczne systemy zarządzania Nauczymy Cię projektować i tworzyć bazy danych związane z zarządzaniem przedsiębiorstwem. Specification of learning outcomes for the direction of studies: “Management and Production Engineering”, B.Sc. level, general academic profile: 1. In respect to knowledge:
- has knowledge within the range of mathematics, physics, basics of informatics and other fields of science useful for formulating and solving of simple tasks connected with management and production engineering,
- has elementary knowledge within the range of spectrum of engineering branches connected with management and production engineering, among them: basics of machine building technology, material science, automation and metrology,
- has well-grounded and theoretically based general knowledge within the range of key issues characteristic for management and production engineering – knowledge connected with basics of management, strategic management, economy, costs calculations, design of production systems and processes,
- has detailed knowledge connected with selected fields of management and production engineering - among them: design of production processes, production planning, organization of production processes,
- has detailed knowledge connected with functioning of integrated management systems and informatics system aiding production;
- has detailed knowledge on development trends in the management and production engineering – connected with development of informatics systems,
- has basic knowledge on development trends in the management and production engineering – connected with development of management systems, among them: quality management systems, environment protections and workplace health and safety (WHS/OHS) rules,
- has basic knowledge on development trends in the management and production engineering – connected with development of logistics systems, among them: JiT & Kanban systems, Lean Manufacturing idea, restriction theory etc.,
- has basic knowledge on product life cycle, production objects and systems,
- has basic knowledge on methods of functionality assessment of production systems – taking into account costs, time and quality,
- knows basic methods, techniques, tools and materials used for solution of simple engineering tasks connected with management and production engineering, among them: with design of technological products and processes,
- knows basic methods, techniques and tools used for solution of engineering problems connected with production organization, among them: knows the basics of teamwork and the methods of management of engineering project,
- has basic knowledge necessary for understanding the economic and legal conditions for engineer activity, knows the general rules of functioning of a production enterprise,
- has basic knowledge necessary for understanding of social and other non-technical conditions of engineering activity, knows rules, obligations and typical behavior of workers in production enterprises,

- knows and understands the basic notions and rules concerning protection of industrial property and authors rights; is able to use information on patents from adequate repositories;
- knows the basic rules of establishing and development of individual entrepreneurship, utilizing the knowledge of management and production engineering;

a) General skills (not related to the field of engineering education):
- is able to retrieve an information from references, data bases and other sources, also in English,
- is able to aggregate the obtained information, perform its interpretation as well as draw conclusions, formulate and support the issued opinions,
- is able to communicate – by means of versatile techniques – in the professional and other environments;
- is able to prepare in Polish and in foreign language well supported report on problems related to management and production engineering,
- has abilities of oral presentations, in Polish and foreign language, related to the detailed topics of the studied engineer field of knowledge,
- has an ability of self-education,
- has language abilities within the management and production engineering, in accordance with the requirements formulated for the level B2 of the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment”,
b) Basic engineer skills:
- is able to use versatile information-communication tools adequate to performance of tasks typical for the activities of production engineer;
- is able to plan and to do works related to design production systems, among them: establish goals, plan the deadlines and budget as well as to manage the engineering projects,
- is able to perform measurements, experiments and engineering investigations, among them: measurements and calculations connected with functioning of production systems; is able to present the obtained results in digital and graphical form, make their interpretation and draw correct conclusions,
- for formulating and solving the engineer tasks, is able to the analytical, simulation and experimental methods;
- for formulating and solving the engineer tasks, is able to realize their systematic and non-technical aspects,
- is able to design production systems for departments and work places taking into account the technological, organizational, ergonomic requirements as well as ‘workplace health and safety’ rules,
- is able to design work places taking into account identification of worker needs, among them: specific requirements connected with employment of disabled persons,
- has a background necessary for working in the production enterprise and knows the rules of safety connected with this work,
- is able to perform the economic analyses of the undertaken activities connected with design of production systems,
- is able to perform the economic analyses connected with functioning of production systems,
c) Skills connected directly with solving of engineering tasks:
- is able to perform a critical analysis of the way of functioning of production enterprise taking into account cost, time and quality of the ongoing processes,
- is able to evaluate the existing solutions related to production processes: manufacturing techniques, logistic system, utilized control methods of production processes,
- is able to evaluate the existing solutions related to production processes: utilized information tools, utilized methods of costs calculations, methods of forecasting, planning and production organizing;
- is able to perform an identification and make a specification of simple engineering tasks, typical for management and production engineering;
- is able to evaluate a usefulness of basic methods and tools dedicated to solving simple tasks -typical for production engineer,
- is able to choose and apply the proper method and tool aiding the work of production engineer – especially for aiding the design and organization works,
- is able to – in accordance with the given specification – to design and organize the production system applying the proper methods, techniques and tools,
3. In respect to social competences:
- understands a need and knows the possibilities of long-life learning (studies of second and third level, post-diploma studies, courses) - improvement of professional, personal and social competences,
- is conscious of importance and understands non-technical aspects and consequences of scientific and technological development and engineering activity, among them: activities of engineer of management and production engineering and their influence on environment as well as the due responsibility for the decisions made;
- is conscious of a social activities of production engineer – e.g. within the range of fitting the workplace to the requirement specific for disabled persons,
- is able to work on team, taking different roles in a team – is able to co-operate,
- is conscious of responsibility of own work and is eager to respect the rules of teamwork and taking responsibility for the tasks commonly performed,
- is able to properly formulate the priorities adequate to performance of the own or given tasks connected with management and production engineering,
- properly identifies and adjudicates dilemmas connected with the professional practice, is conscious of importance of behavior in a professional way, compliance of professional ethics and respect of versatile views and cultures;
- is able to think and act in an entrepreneurial way,
- is conscious of social role of a graduate of a university of technology, especially understands the need of formulating and passing to the society – among others: via the media of mass communication – information and opinions concerning achievements within the range of production engineering, economical and managerial sciences,
- is able to and makes efforts aiming for passing information and opinions within the range of production engineering in a commonly understood way.
The Learning Outcomes for the B.Sc. level of studies of the general academic profile within the field of technical sciences for the direction of studies: “Management and Production Engineering” were approved by the Resolution no 817/07/IV/2012 of the Senate of the University of Bielsko-Biala dated at 4th July 2012 entitled: “On the approval of the Learning Outcomes for the study programmes taught at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science”.
