Pedagogika przedszkolna i wczesnoszkolna - edukacja elementarna

Absolwent kierunku Pedagogika Przedszkolna i Wczesnoszkolna to osoba potrafiąca w sposób kreatywny tworzyć warunki wszechstronnego rozwoju dzieci w edukacji przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej, posiadająca kompendium kompetencji, by w sposób twórczy organizować proces kształcenia zintegrowanego na etapie edukacji przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej.

To także osoba wykazująca się pogłębioną wiedzą w zakresie najnowszych tendencji i kierunków zmian we współczesnej edukacji przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej. Ważne miejsce w procesie kształtowania kompetencji absolwenta odgrywają praktyki pedagogiczne odbywane w przedszkolach i klasach I- III szkół podstawowych w trakcie których ma możliwość twórczego wykorzystywania zdobytej – w toku studiów – wiedzy i umiejętności.

Absolwent kierunki posiada tytuł magistra zakresie pedagogiki przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej – uzyskuje kwalifikacje do pracy w placówkach przedszkolnych oraz klasach I-III szkoły podstawowej.

Learning outcomes

Learning outcomes in the field of pedagogy, long-cycle studies, education profile: practical:

In the area of knowledge, a graduate:
– has in-depth pedagogical, psychological, philosophical and sociological knowledge supporting the understanding of the processes of development, socialization, upbringing and education, used in everyday teaching work to effectively organize and support the integral development of preschool/early-school pupils and assist their families/legal guardians; s/he also knowns how to deal with various forms of contemporary interdisciplinary research on childhood forms of behavior/activities;
– has in-depth knowledge of general didactics and detailed methodologies ensuring independent preparation, implementation and evaluation of the core curriculum and classes in kindergarten and primary school classes, taking into account its practical application;
– has knowledge about the structure and functions of the education system, its legal basis and goals, its organization and functioning of kindergartens and schools, and about the rights of children and the methods of their enforcement, and further promotion in the pre-school and school environment and beyond;
– has knowledge about pedagogical innovations and the role of the teacher/tutor in the process of educating children/pupils in preschool and early school education;
– has in-depth knowledge of the diverse possibilities of children/pupils in preschool and early school age resulting from delays, disorders or acceleration of development and in the scope of adapting of tasks of developmental, educational and/or therapeutic nature to them, the framework of inclusive and intercultural education, as well as their practical application included;
– has in-depth knowledge of designing and conducting scientific research in pedagogy, taking into account the basics of copyright and diagnostic tests that recognize the specificity of the functioning of children in preschool and early school age and their diverse educational needs;
– has knowledge of the processes of social communication and the use of information and communication technologies in education, knowledge of voice emission and the functioning (and dysfunction) of the speech apparatus, as well as the correct habits of using speech organs;
– has knowledge of occupational health and safety in educational and care-taking institutions, as well as first aid and legal responsibility of a tutor;
– has in-depth pedagogical, psychological and methodological knowledge in the field of teaching English in kindergarten and at the stage of early school education.

In the area of abilities, a graduate:
– performs the observation, analysis and assessment of pedagogical situations and events, using pedagogical-psychological, axiological, sociological and biomedical knowledge, and proposes solutions to educational problems in elementary education;
– selects, applies and evaluates solutions in the field of methodology of performing tasks, i.e. standards, procedures and good practices used in kindergarten and early childhood education; is able to design alternative solutions and pedagogical innovations adequately to the purposes of on-coming upbringing and/or education activities;
– uses in everyday practice of early school and preschool education various ways of organizing the teaching-learning environment; takes into account the specific needs and possibilities of the group and individual children/pupils; creates educational and didactic situations that motivate children/pupils to learn and work on themselves; is able to carry out analyzes of their effectiveness;
– designs and conducts pedagogical research and has skills in the following areas: diagnosing the needs, possibilities, abilities of each child/pupil in preschool and early school age, as well as planning, implementing and evaluating individualized education and upbringing programs;
– identifies and arouses the interests of children/pupils in preschool and early school age, and adjusts the methods and content of education to these resources;
– has language skills in accordance with the requirements established for a specific area and level of education of the Polish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education; listening and speaking skills at the C1 level, reading and writing skills at the B2+ level.
– is methodologically prepared to teach English to preschool and/or early school children/pupils;
– uses the principles of social communication, as well as these of information and communication technologies in the process of education and upbringing and in conducting pedagogical research;
– uses in practice knowledge about the structure and functions of the education system, legal basis, goals, organization and functioning of educational, care and care-giving institutions;
– uses the speech apparatus in accordance with the rules of voice emission;
– applies knowledge of first aid in practice.

In the area of social competences, a graduate:
– evaluates and shows genuine concern for the harmonious and comprehensive development of children/pupils by developing their key competences;
– uses ethical standards in professional activities, guided primarily by respect for the rights of the child and with respect for the subjectivity of all subjects of education;
– performs the role of a teacher responsibly, taking into account the social needs of the environment; skillfully communicates and cooperates with teachers, tutors, specialists and parents of children/pupils as well as other members of the preschool/early school and local community, in this way attempting to build mutual trust.

Resolution No. 1477/09/VI/2019 of the Senate of the University of the University of Bielsko-Biala of 24th September 2019, on the establishment of study programs in the field of Preschool and early school pedagogy, long-cycle studies with a practical profile.
