Absolwent(ka) posiada gruntowne wykształcenie humanistyczne. Dzięki temu rozumie zjawiska zachodzące w przestrzeni kulturowej i społecznej – w wymiarze lokalnym, narodowym i globalnym. Jest filologiem, polonistą, dobrze zorientowanym w duchowym dziedzictwie polskim i światowym, świadomym mechanizmów rządzących sferą symboliczną, językiem, posiada wiedzę w zakresie literaturoznawstwa i językoznawstwa oraz solidne podstawy nowoczesnej pedagogiki, psychologii i metodyk nauczania, umie pisać i redagować teksty użytkowe, może zatem pracować w różnych instytucjach kultury. Absolwent specjalności uzyskuje I część przygotowania do wykonywania zawodu nauczyciela polonisty dotyczącą poziomu szkoły podstawowej – z możliwością uzyskania kwalifikacji do wykonywania zawodu po ukończeniu studiów magisterskich – zgodnie ze standardami kształcenia nauczycieli określonymi w rozporządzeniu Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego z 2019 roku.
Absolwent(ka) oprócz podstawowego przygotowania w zakresie literaturoznawstwa i językoznawstwa posiada wiedzę z zakresu teorii komunikacji w środowiskach starych i nowych mediów oraz architektury i designu informacji, dysponuje umiejętnościami i wiedzą dotyczącymi interdyscyplinarnych strategii komunikacyjnych, zna mechanizmy perswazji, retoryki i erystyki i umie ją zastosować w kreowaniu zróżnicowanych genologicznie i pragmatycznie komunikatów. Posiada wiedzę i umiejętności z zakresu projektowania wizerunku firm i instytucji, reklamy i public relations oraz zarządzania projektem. Dysponuje umiejętnościami w zakresie organizowania przestrzeni komunikacyjnej firm i instytucji, nowoczesnego copy writingu. Potrafi zarządzać potencjałem know-how i pracą w zespole oraz szybko dostosować się do potrzeb rynku w zawodach kreatywnych. Absolwent tej specjalności znajdzie pracę w domach mediowych, w działach public relations i marketingu, w agencjach brandingowych, w redakcjach portali internetowych, wszędzie tam, gdzie potrzebna jest skuteczna komunikacja. Absolwent specjalności posiada wiedzę z zakresu:
Ścieżka teoretyczna edukacji na 3-letnich studiach licencjackich na specjalności dziennikarstwo zakłada zdobycie wiedzy z zakresu szeroko rozumianej kultury audiowizualnej, funkcjonowania mediów, historii dziennikarstwa, prawnych i ekonomicznych uwarunkowań pracy dziennikarskiej, społeczeństwa obywatelskiego, zjawiska inkluzywności społecznej, instytucji państwa demokratycznego, zarządzania informacją i kulturą, komunikacji międzykulturowej, ekologii. Wiedzę teoretyczną uzupełniają kompetencje zdobyte dzięki aktywnościom praktycznym – zajęciom, projektom i praktykom w redakcjach dziennikarskich. Pozwalają one nie tylko zweryfikować wiedzę zdobytą na zajęciach, ale też zdobyć doświadczenie i sprawdzić się w przyszłym zawodzie. Absolwent specjalności dziennikarstwo posiada kompetencje w obszarze: szeroko rozumianej kultury, przetwarzania informacji, rzecznictwa prasowego, animacji kultury, kreowania wizerunku publicznego, obecności w przestrzeni cyfrowej, tworzenia i redagowania tekstów artystycznych oraz użytkowych.
